Cutting Instructions:
Fabric 1 - Cut 4 squares 2 1/2"
Cut 4 squares 2 7/8” - cut on one diagonal
Cut 2 squares 5 1/4" - cut on both diagonals
Fabric 2 - Cut 2 squares 5 1/4" - cut on both diagonals
Fabric 3 - Cut 2 squares 4 7/8” - cut on one diagonal
Fabric 4 - Cut 1 square 5 1/4" - cut on both diagonals
Assembly:
Finished block 12x12
Cutting Instructions:
Fabric 1 - 1 square 7 ¼” x 7 ¼” – cut on both diagonals
4 squares 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” – cut on one diagonal
1 square 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Fabric 2 - 6 squares 3 7/8” – cut on one diagonal
Fabric 3 - 4 squares 2 7/8” – cut on one diagonal
Fabric 4 - 2 squares 3 7/8” – cut on one diagonal
Assembly:
1. Make 8 half square triangles using the 2 7/8” triangles from Fabric 3 &
Fabric 1
2. Make 4 half square triangles from Fabrics 2 & 4
3. Make 4 flying geese blocks from Fabric 1 & remainder of Fabric 2
4. Using the HST from step 1 & the 2 ½” square from fabric one, created the
center 9 batch block
5. Refer to picture for remainder of square assembly.

Assembly:
1. Using fabric 1 & 3 triangles, make 4 half square triangle blocks.
2. Attached step 1 blocks to Fabric 2 squares. Fabric 2 & 3 should be touching.
3. Take the remaining Fabric 3 triangles and attach them to the 4 3/4” Fabric 1 block
4. Using the picture as reference, assemble the pieces

Block assembly:
- Make 4 small flying geese using triangle pieces of fabrics 3 & 4
- Make 4 larger flying geese using triangle pieces of fabrics 1 & 2
- Refer the diagram for fabric placement.

Choose 4 colors – The colors in parenthesis are to just show piece placement. Please feel free to continue using your own color choices!
Color 1 – (yellow) Cut 2 squares 3 7/8 – cut on diagonal to make 4 HST Cut 1 square 7 ¼ - cut on both diagonals to make 4 quarter square triangles
Color 2 – (purple) Cut 4 squares 3 7/8 – cut on diagonal to make 4 HST
Color 3 – (teal) Cut 2 squares 3 7/9 – cut on diagonal to make 4 HST
Color 4 – (blue) Cut 1 square 7 ¼ - cut on both diagonals to make 4 QST
Finished Block 12x12

Cut 2 squares 4 ½ x 4 ½
Cut 4 rectangles 2 ½ x 4 ½
Cut 1 square 2 ½ x 2 ½

Cut 2 squares 4 ½ x 4 ½
Cut 4 rectangles 2 ½ x 4 ½
Instructions
Step 1 – draw a line down the center of one of the 4 ½ squares and sew ¼ inch seam down either side (making half square triangles) – make 4
Cut down the line marking to create 8 HST
Step 2 – sew the rectangles together – make 4
Step 3 – assemble the pieces
