2024-2025 BOM

BLOCK OF THE MONTH

April/May 2025: Paper Pieced Flower

This will be the last block of the month until we start again in August.

The block of the month for April/May will be a paper pieced flower.  This is a very simple block with large pattern pieces. The pattern will be available at the April Meeting.  Please do not make copies of the pattern.   Extra  copies of the pattern are available by contacting Kathy Parrish.  Members will use their own fabrics.  White on white, yellow for the center, bright colors for the flower and green for the leaves.  The pattern has the colors written on each section. The block will be slightly larger than 8" square.  Please do not trim block.

BLOCK OF THE MONTH

February and March 2025 BOM: Friendship Chain

To make this block members will use all their own fabric.  Light cream colored fabric - cut two 5"  squares and eight 2 1/2" squares.  Black tone on tone - cut eight 2 1/2" squares.  Bright Jewel Tone - cut two 5" squares and one 4 1/2" square.  The 4 1/2" square should be a darker tone than the 5" squares BUT the same color.  This will make the quilt visually prettier and have movement.

1. Use the cream colored and jewel tone 5" squares to make four 1/2 square triangles.

2. Using the black and cream 2 1/2" squares make four 4-patches.

3. Sew all sections together following the picture.

BLOCK OF THE MONTH

January 2025 BOM: Country Stars - Part 2

This is part two of our Country Stars quilt.   In December we made

blue and white 9-patch blocks and snowball blocks.  For January we

will be making two different 9-patch blocks.  Members will be

provided with packets containing 8 - 2 1/2" light red squares and

8 - 2 1/2" white squares.  Members will use 8 - 2 1/2" squares of dark

reds from their own stash.  Try to use a variety of reds to create a

scrappy look to the quilt.

Use the two pictures as a guide to color placement for your blocks.

The more blocks we get, the larger the quilt we can make.
